Time delay spread at 2.1 GHz around regular and chaflane street corners for microcellular communications

چکیده
A ray tracing model based on the application of the uniform theory of diffraction (UTD) and geometrical optics (GO) for modeling the propagation in the microcellular urban scenarios has been implemented. This model has been used to analyze the behavior of the rms delay spread while turning a corner in two street-corner environmentsregular and chaflane street corners. The study of the environment of the two corners shows that there exist important differences between both street corners.

Explicit Formula for Path Loss Prediction in Urban Streets for Microcellular Communications
This paper presents an explicit formula for propagation path loss prediction of microcellular communication in an urban street scene. The formula is derived based on geometrical optics and diffraction theory and it takes into account multiple reflections along main streets, side streets and diffractions around corners. Comparisons between our theoretical results with measurements and ray tracin...
متن کاملChannel Measurement and Modeling for 5G Urban Microcellular Scenarios
In order to support the development of channel models for higher frequency bands, multiple urban microcellular measurement campaigns have been carried out in Berlin, Germany, at 60 and 10 GHz. In this paper, the collected data is uniformly analyzed with focus on the path loss (PL) and the delay spread (DS). It reveals that the ground reflection has a dominant impact on the fading behavior. For ...

II. MEASUREMENT SYSTEM SETUP AND CAMPAIGNS Abstract—The power delay profiles (PDPs), tap Ricean factors, and tap Doppler spectra due to channel small scale effects are derived and studied in this paper based on the wideband measurements performed in rural and suburban with 100 MHz bandwidth at 5.25 GHz and 2.45 GHz for beyond 3G (B3G) link and system level simulations. The measurements analyzed...
متن کاملMicrocell Coverage and Delay Spread Prediction Using Waveguide Theory
Waveguide analysis is used to predict power levels received in a microcellular system in an urban environment. An Urban street with tall buildings on both sides is modeled by a plate parallel waveguide made of rough plates. The distribution of power among the waveguide modes tends to concentrate in the low order modes, at large distances from the source antenna. The waveguide–based model predic...

As the cost of massively broadbandTM semiconductors continue to be driven down at millimeter wave (mm-wave) frequencies, there is great potential to use LMDS spectrum (in the 28 – 38 GHz bands) and the 60 GHz band for cellular/mobile and peer-to-peer wireless networks. This work presents urban cellular and peer-to-peer RF wideband channel measurements using a broadband sliding correlator channe...
